The wait is over, my fellow Walker Bait! Season 4 of the Walking Dead premiere’s tonight on AMC! It’s been a crazy year around here, and so much has happened during the show’s summer hiatus. Fear not, for this season promises to be one helluva roller coaster ride!
And, here to help kick things off, is our very special interview guest Moses Moseley.
Most of you know him as Michonne’s “pet”, while some of you may recognize him from one of his other roles. Moses started out as a print model working with numerous photographers, helping to build both his and their portfolios. He has made appearances in movies such as “Joyful Noise”, “Trouble with the Curve”, “42”, “Magic Eye”, and “The Internship”. He has also made appearances in television shows such as, “Single Ladies”, Second Generation Waynes and, “Necessary Roughness”. Moe has also starred in the screen plays, “Molaie”, “Dysfunctional”, and, “The Bottom”.
WBP: What was your reaction upon learning you had been cast as Michonne’s “pet” on TWD?
MOE: I get this question a lot and I always laugh when I tell the story. I actually started out being a regular walker for about a month or two. I went through the zombie school and audition process and one early morning at 4:00 am I got a phone call. By the graces of God I woke up and stared at my phone for a couple seconds contemplating if I’d answer but something told me to answer. So I answered and it just happened to be the casting department for TWD. They said hey Mr. Moseley sorry about the hour but we have an opening for a spot on TWD would you like it. In a daze I said yes and they said they’d call back me back in the morning with instructions and I immediately fell back asleep. I woke up the next morning in shock thinking it was a dream and a couple minutes later I received an email that gave me an address and time to report to the recording studio. I then jumped up and fist pumped til my arm felt numb! LOL.
WBP: What was the most challenging part of the role and why?
MOE: The most challenging part was staying still while I was ‘uglified’, LOL. I hate sitting still so I had to calm my mind and just let the artist do their job.
WBP: What was your favorite scene to shoot and why?
MOE: My favorite scene was the helicopter explosion because I got to see all of the preparing and how they simulated the crash and explosion.
WBP: I would imagine that being a part of a show like TWD can really push an actor to his/her limits. What is the greatest lesson you learned through this experience?
MOE: The greatest lesson I learned is stay humble. As I watched all of these amazing actors go from hardcore character mode to regular people it amazed and enlightened me and showed me it’s possible to be successful and humble at the same time.
WBP: What is the scariest movie you’ve ever seen?
MOE: Stephen King’s IT is the scariest movie ever, about the killer clown. I still get chills when I watch it. LOL.
WBP: What was the first CD/album you ever bought?
MOE: Believe it or not I’ve never bought a CD, LOL. I’ve always borrowed or gotten one as a gift from a friend or family member.
WBP: If you could star in a remake of a classic film, what character would you want to play?
MOE: I’d be any member of the Goonies! LOL.
WBP: If you hadn’t found success with acting, what career path would you have chosen?
MOE: I’d be a lawyer or psychiatrist.
WBP: What is the meaning of life?
MOE: To enjoy life and help others do the same.
WBP: If it were up to you, when the inevitable time arrived, how would TWD end?
MOE: I’d make it so the whole world got swallowed by a black hole because I don’t want the show to ever end! LOL.
